Sonia, Priyanka leave Shimla for Delhi

Shimla, June 16 (IANS) Congress president Sonia Gandhi, who was on holiday here along with her daughter Priyanka Vadra and her grandchildren, left for Delhi Tuesday afternoon, officials said.
“Gandhi and her family left for Delhi this (Tuesday) afternoon. They spent two days in the resort (Wildflower Hall, an Oberoi Group’s luxury resort on the outskirts of the town). For just half an hour, they visited Priyanka’s cottage which is being constructed (near the resort),” the official told IANS.
The Gandhi family, which had reached Shimla Sunday, enjoyed the heavy showers Tuesday morning, the official said, adding the Congress chief and her daughter were frequent visitors to Shimla, and preferred to keep their visit a private affair.
Local Congress leader Kehar Singh Khachi, who has been supervising the construction of Priyanka’s house, said: “The cottage will be complete by the end of this year.”
