Sonia Gandhi to visit Rae Bareli

Lucknow, Nov 27 (IANS) Congress president Sonia Gandhi will be on a three-day visit of her constituency Rae Bareli from Nov 29 to evaluate the status of developmental schemes, a party official said here Saturday.
“On the first day, Gandhi is expected to meet locals and also make surprise visits at villages to know the ground reality of the central government-sponsored welfare schemes,” Congress spokesperson in Uttar Pradesh Akhilesh Pratap Singh told reporters.
On the second day of her tour, she will participate in party meetings and issue directives to party activists and also attend a social programme.
“On the last day, she will chair a meeting of the district vigilance and monitoring committee and enquire about execution of central government welfare schemes,” he added.
