Sonia Gandhi puts off Chhattisgarh tour yet again

Raipur, Nov 11 (IANS) Congress president Sonia Gandhi has put off her Chhattisgarh campaign tour scheduled for Wednesday, party sources said Tuesday.The Congress chief was scheduled to address two public meetings Nov 12 at Dhamtari and Mahasamund on the last day of campaigning for 39 seats going to polls Nov 14.

This is the second time in past two days the Congress president has deferred her trip to the state going to polls Nov 14 and 20 to elect a new 90-member state assembly.

She was scheduled to address two election meetings Nov 10 at Bhilai and Jadgalpur but she put off the visit last minute and her son and party MP, Rahul Gandhi, addressed both the meetings.

Congress state chief spokesperson, Rajendra Tiwari, told newsmen: “Rahul Gandhi will address meetings Wednesday at Dhamtari and Mahasamund in place of Sonia Gandhi, who has cancelled her visit due to tight schedule in Delhi.”
