Sonia Gandhi out of ICU

New Delhi, Aug 6 (IANS) Congress president Sonia Gandhi has been shifted out of the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at a hospital abroad where she was operated upon for an undisclosed ailment, a senior party leader said here Saturday.
“Sonia Gandhi remained in the ICU for 24 hours and has thereafter been moved out. Her family has expressed gratitude on her behalf for all the messages and good wishes that have been sent to her,” Congress spokesperson Janardan Dwidedi said.
Informed sources said that she was being treated at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Centre in New York and underwent surgery Thursday. However, the hospital refused to confirm or deny anthing.
Her son Rahul Gandhi, daughter Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and son-in-law Robert Vadra are with her.
