Sonia Gandhi meets officials in Rae Bareli (Lead)

Rae Bareli, March 31 (IANS) Congress president Sonia Gandhi Wednesday met officials in her Lok Sabha constituency Rae Bareli and discussed development issues, a party spokesman said.
Gandhi met the Rae Bareli district vigilance and monitoring committee to review the implementation of the central government-sponsored projects, Congress spokesman Akhilesh Pratap Singh said.
The meeting took place at the Collector’s Office.
Gandhi reached Rae Bareli, some 80 km from here, earlier in the day. She may visit some villages in the sprawling largely rural constituency of Uttar Pradesh to study various projects.
Gandhi will return to New Delhi in the evening.
