New Delhi, June 2 (IANS) Congress president Sonia Gandhi Monday constituted a four-member committee to formulate a strategy for strengthening the organisation and to prepare the party for the upcoming assembly elections and 2009 general elections. External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee, Defence Minister A.K Antony, senior party leader Ahmed Patel and Janardhan Dwivedi are the members of the committee.

The Congress Working Committee (CWC), which Saturday met to assess the current political scenario, had suggested that Gandhi form a committee to suggest ways and means to revitalise the party.

The CWC had met in the wake of the party’s humiliating defeat in Karnataka polls last month.
