Smriti Irani to head BJP’s women’s cell

New Delhi, June 15 (IANS) The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Tuesday named Smriti Irani as head of its women’s cell as it announced chiefs of various party committees and reconstituted the central election committee.
Heads of other cells are Dushyant Gautam for scheduled castes, Faggan Singh Kulaste for scheduled tribes, Tanvir Ahmed for minority affairs and Om Prakash Dhankar for farmers. Om Prakash Kohli will head the party’s disciplinary committee.
Anurag Thakur will head the party’s youth wing.
Former prime minister and senior party leader Atal Bihari Vajpayee will continue to be a member of the 20-member central election committee along with party chief Nitin Gadkari and other senior leaders like L.K. Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi, M. Venkaiah Naidu, Sushma Swaraj, Arun Jaitley and Rajnath Singh.
