Skill development programme for poor in Delhi
September 21st, 2011 - 10:17 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Sep 21 (IANS) Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit Wednesday launched a skill development and employment programme for over 3,000 people living below the poverty line.
A total of 3,282 beneficiaries, aged 18-35 and residents of slums and rehabilitation colonies, will gain from the pilot project under which seven social groups will impart training in different trades and courses.
“There will be no dearth of funds for training the aspirants. The beneficiaries will be given a stipend during training and will be paid at least the minimum wages on appointment after training,” Dikshit said.
