Sixth Annual Meeting Of Clinton Global Initiative Starts Today

clintonNew York City, Sep 21, (THAINDIAN NEWS) On Tuesday, World leaders, representatives of non-governmental organizations, philanthropists and Chief Executive officers of some of the world leading private companies will sit to discuss issues that are plaguing not only United States by many other developing countries under the banner of Clinton Global Initiative. The Clinton Global Initiative will be kick starting its sixth annual meeting in midtown Manhattan. The foundation, that tries to interest the private sector to invest money on non-profit developmental programs, will like every year this year as well address many key issues like women empowerment, unemployment, energy usage and consumption and many other issues. The three day long Clinton Global Initiative meeting will continue till Sep 23 in New York City.

The official website of the Clinton Global Initiative foundation mentions that this year the president of United States Barack Obama along with his wife Michelle Obama appear at the meeting. The duo will be in New York City to address the United Nations General Assembly meeting. It has also listed names of Paul Farmer, Eric Schmidt along with Microsoft Founder Bill Gates, NBC News special correspondent Tom Brokaw, and former Secretary of State Madeline Albrecht in its list of speakers. Reports claim that President Barack Obama along with the first lady will be turning up at the meeting on Thursday.

On Tuesday founder member Bill Clinton along with his Secretary of State wife Hillary Clinton will be addressing the gathering at the annual meeting. The former president who recently praised the economic policies of the present president said to media sources that the “biggest” issue that is plaguing United States is “unemployment” and Clinton Global Initiative will try its best to create job opportunities.
