Shiv Sena MP seriously injured in accident
January 22nd, 2012 - 9:39 pm ICT by IANSPune, Jan 22 (IANS) Shiv Sena MP Bharatkumar Raut Sunday suffered severe head injuries when his car met with an accident on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway Sunday and his condition is critical, hospital officials said.
“Raut was brought to the hospital with another person. Raut has suffered injuries on his head and is under treatment in the intensive care unit,” a hospital official told IANS.
“The other person is also admitted in the ICU,” he added.
Hospital authorities said that both the patients are responding to treatment. However, they are waiting for them to get stable.
Raut was himself driving the car. He was taken to the hospital in Nigdi, 20 kms from Pune city.
Police are probing the cause of the accident.
