Shibu Soren to meet governor for new Jharkhand government (Lead)

Ranchi, Dec 26 (IANS) A new Jharkhand government with Shibu Soren at the helm appeared certain with the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) chief Saturday getting the support of the Bharatiya Janata Party and the All Jharkhand Students Union (AJSU).
Soren sought time from Governor K. Shankaranarayan to formally stake claim to form a government. He is to meet the governor at 3 p.m. along with his son Hemant Soren, AJSU president Sudesh Mahto, and BJP state chief Raghubar Das, former party chief Rajnath Singh and Arjun Munda.
Earlier, BJP leader and former chief minister Arjun Munda announced that the party was extending support to the JMM to form a new government.
The BJP also elected Raghubar Das as its legislative party leader.
