Sharad Yadav’s name missing from voters’ list
March 14th, 2009 - 2:27 pm ICT by IANSPatna, March 14 (IANS) Janata Dal-United (JD-U) chief Sharad Yadav’s name is missing from the voters’ list in Madhepura Lok Sabha constituency in Bihar, an official said Saturday.
“The district administration will look into it,” an official said, admitting that the name was mysteriously not from the list of Ward 19 in Madhepura town. Yadav is a Rajya Sabha MP.
Yadav was elected to the Lok Sabha from Madhepura thrice but was defeated in 2004 by Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Lalu Prasad. Yadav was reportedly keen to contest from Madhepura again.
According to a JD-U leader, Yadav has been a voter of Ward 19 for over a decade. “His name was very much in the voters’ list, but is missing now,” he said.
