Shakespalin: Sarah Palin Creates New Word, Tweeters Create New Hashtag

July 20 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The former Governor of Alaska, and former Vice Presidential candidate for the Republican party in the United States is no stranger to popularity, nor ridicule, however she has taken her humor to a whole new level with the creation of a new word; refudiate.
Palin recently used a word which had not existed before she decided to say it. Not only did she say the word on ‘FOX’ news, but again on Twitter, the very popular social networking site. After being ridiculed endlessly for the made up word, Palin took to Twitter to explain her definition of refudiate. “‘Refudiate,’ ‘misunderestimate,’ ‘wee-wee’d up.’ English is a living language. Shakespeare liked to coin new words too. Got to celebrate it!”
Unfortunately for Palin, there were many literary buffs who did not seem to take to kindly to her comparing herself to Shakespeare, and started a new trend which was meant to make fun of Palin. A new hashtag has been created on Twitter after Palin’s new word creation, called Shakespalin. Although the new trend may have been intended to ridicule her, Palin has gotten a great deal of publicity from the whole ordeal.
The hashtag represents Tweeter misquotes from Shakespeare which users have made up, mostly to either poke fun at Palin or express political views. Here are a few examples of the new Twitter-Palin trend:
Refudiate The word is too good to paint out her wickedness.I could say she were worse: think you of a worse title, and I will fit her to it. #shakespalin
Old McCain, walk aside with me: I have studied eight or nine wise words to speak to you, which these lamestream reporters must not hear. #shakespalin
As Palin is, cannot be commendable: But who dare tell her so? #shakespalin
I pray you what is she? Why she is the GOP’s jester: a very dull fool; only her gift is in devising impossible slanders #shakespalin
djsamk Neither a thinker nor a reader be / for thought oft loses both itself and friend / and reading dulls the edge of Fox TV. #shakespalin
With horrid speech, she Makes mad the guilty, and appalls the free, Confounds the ignorant, and amazes The very faculties of eyes and ears.#shakespalin
