Massachusetts, Jan 20 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The US President got a nasty anniversary present in the form of Scott Brown, who won the US Senate seat in Massachusetts yesterday. With the Republican win, now the Obama administration will find it more difficult to pass their Health Care Reform Bill in the Senate. It was quite an embarrassing defeat for the Democrats and a shocking anniversary present for Barack Obama also.
Some critics are of the opinion that after Scott Brown’s win, the real losers are actually the uninsured American people. And also the other people who have spend huge sums of money on Health care services. Everyone focused on the Democrat vs. Republican debate, but hardly anyone thinks about the common man in the US, who needs adequate health care cover at a minimal cost as well.
Around 46 million people are bereft of health insurance during the course of a year in US. And because of this, around 20,000 people lose their lives annually as they don’t get the medical attention that they deserve. If they had adequate medical cover then they would have been able to avail all the health-care facilities and also survive as well.
