Scott Brown Pays Tribute To Late Senator Ted Kennedy In His Acceptance Speech

victory-scottBoston, Jan 20, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The voters of Massachusetts, who for years had cast their votes in favor of Democrat candidate, have changed their opinions this time and have elected Republican candidate Scott Brown as the Senator of the state. Republican Scott Brown, who lacked popularity than his rival candidate Attorney General Martha Coakley had given tremendous effort to persuade the voters of the state in order to win the senate race. Scott Brown, who was delighted to win the seat, paid tribute to late Senator Ted Kennedy during his acceptance speech.

Late Senator Ted Kennedy had held the Massachusetts Senate seat for 46 years and after his death the senate seat remained vacant. The late Senator enjoyed great popularity in this seat and it was extremely difficult for the Democrats to accept defeat in this seat. As many people considered it to be a sure seat for the Democrats, Scott Brown in his victory speech said, “This senate seat belongs to no one person and no one party. This is the people’s seat.”

Republican Scott Brown, who had acted skillfully during the election campaigns retained the same spirit during the victory speech. Addressing Democrat candidate Martha Coakley, victorious Scott Brown said that the elections are over and so they should come together and act as Commonwealth. The newly elected Republican also honored the memories of Senator Ted Kennedy and pledged to become an appropriate successor of his seat. While closing the speech he said that he will have to learn several things in the Senate yet he would always remember his identity and his job in the Senate.
