Washington, Nov. 18, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Sarah Palin’s pose on the cover of “Newsweek”’s latest installment is getting her into quite a lot of trouble. She herself rejected the cover, saying that it is “sexist” and”out of context” claiming that it was originally meant for the cover of the “Runner’s World” magazine. She claimed that the editors of “Newsweek” had put the photo on the cover of the magazine without her permission and insisted that she had not posed for the magazine wearing sports gear and standing beside the American flag, as the cover shows.
The former beauty queen and present right wing politician and former Governor of Alaska commented on her Facebook profile that she had not intended the photo to find it’s way to “Newsweek”’s cover. Though she did not comment on the content of the article that accompanies the picture, which is not very flattering, or the cheeky caption that goes “How Do You Solve A Problem Like Sarah?”, she does take a potshot at them in her post. She claims that the magazine has recently taken interest in matters that do not concern her political career at all.
She also defends her pose for the “Runner’s World” magazine. She asserts that the photo was taken in the context of something that she is very conscious about, both as an individual and the representative of a country. “Newsweek” magazine, on the other hand, did not come up with an apology, saying that they have only published the best photo they could find, as they always do. The editor of the magazine insisted that there is nothing sexist about the issue as the same procedure is followed for everybody, male or female.
