palin Washington Feb 25 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Meghan Stapleton, who was senior advisor and spokeswoman to Sarah Palin, has resigned. CBS News confirms that the former governor of Alaska, Sarah Palin, has lost an important person in her inner circle. Stapleton has been working alongside Palin since 2006, and was the media’s point of contact.

Stapleton says that Palin was not at all surprised by the news, since she knew that Stapleton had been struggling with the decision for a long time. She said that although it has been said that Palin will be lost without her, she knows that Palin will be fine, and “makes a lot of decisions by herself.”

Despite media coverage which suggests the opposite, Stapleton assured everyone that she did not resign because of any actions by Palin. She said she just needed to spend more time with her family, “I just wasn’t doing a good job balancing work and home life.” “This isn’t a reflection on [Palin] at all.” Stapleton went on to say, “While it has been an honor to help Gov. Palin and her family over the last few years, I am also honored to have this incredible opportunity to stay home with my precious miracle, Isabella,” she said. “[She is] 2 years old, [and] I have missed significant moments in her life, but I look forward with great happiness to celebrating milestones as well as mundane moments with her as I refocus my priorities. I also look forward to seeing my saint of a husband again, too!”
