pailn June 21 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Sarah Palin was not at all happy with the description which Rahm Emanuel gave of the Republican Party over the weekend, and made her aggravation know to the world in true celebrity style, in a message in ‘Twitter’ of course.

Sarah Palin made her displeasure with the White House Chief of Staff known in a tweet which read, “RahmEmanuel=as shallow/narrowminded/political/irresponsible as they come,to falsely claim Barton’s BP comment is ‘GOP philosophy,” and then she added, “Rahm, u lie.”

Palin was responding to comments made by Rahm Emanuel on ‘ABC’s This Week’ when he stated that Republican Joe Barton’s apology, that he made to BP’s CEO, Tony Hayward during the congressional hearing, revealed a well known Republican view that the true victim of the Gulf Oil Spill is BP. But Palin spoke out for Republicans, arguing that this is not their contention.

Emanuel stated to ABC, “That’s not a political gaffe, those are prepared remarks. That is a philosophy. That is an approach to what they see. They see the aggrieved party here as BP, not the fishermen.” and then he added, “In case you forgot what Republican governance is like, Joe Barton reminded you.”

Emanuel’s statements were made after Barton made headlines by saying that the 20 billion dollar agreement in which BP agreed with the White House to place the money in escrow for the Gulf Oil Spill victims was a “shakedown” and apologized to BP and Hayward for the deal. He later rescinded his apology, but he never implied that the fishermen and others were not victims of the oil spill.

Palin was not alone in her anger towards Emanuel. Senator Lisa Murkowski called the chief of staff “wrong” on ‘CNN’s State of the Union’, and criticized the Democratic National Committee for running ads which implied that Barton’s comment were tied to the Republican party, when they were his own remarks. She said although the remarks were inappropriate, they should be overlooked, for more important issues.

Murkowski’s statement said, “Let’s focus on providing what the people of the Gulf need, not pointing fingers back and forth and saying ‘oh what you said is wrong.”
