Sarah PalinFeb 7, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The former Arkansas Governor, Sarah Palin landed herself at the Tea Party movement when it held its ‘first big convention’ on Saturday evening. The speech that she gave at the convention seems to have made news in the same manner everything she does makes news. The crowd present at the convention held on Saturday night was supportive of Sarah Palin and she looked like she had roped in a great audience. It is also rumored that she took in a $1,00,000 amount as the speaker’s fee.

Today, Sarah Palin is seen as a media person by one and all. The saying, “love her, hate her, but you can’t avoid her”, seems to have become true for her. The speech has been getting more publicity than it deserved and has inspired a lot of discussion on TV shows and on the radio. Her victory came firstly in the form of cable channels, with four of them going live at the convention. However, once she started to deliver her 45-minute speech, there was what we could call a start of a controversy. Her speech which included “So, how’s the hopey, changey stuff working out for you?”, reeked of her antagonism against the President.

The former Governor took some very personal and ‘direct hits’ at the White House, along with some C-Span addresses. The speech was not totally perfect and the deliverer did fumble here and there, but it was good enough for at least a dozen standing ovations. The worst fumble came when she said ‘Alaska is still that beacon of hope”, when she actually meant “America”.
