Sarah Palin divorce rumor prompts angry retort

August 2nd, 2009 - 7:45 pm ICT by John Le Fevre ( 14 comments )

Sarah Palin Former Alaskan governor and US vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin has reacted angrily to internet rumors she is to divorce her husband of 21-years, Todd.

Palin spokeswoman Meg Stapleton wrote on Palin’s Facebook page, “yet again, some so-called journalists have decided to make up a story. There is no truth to the recent ’story’ (and story is the correct term for this type of fiction) that the Palins are divorcing.”

“The Palins remain married, committed to each other and their family, and have not purchased land in Montana”.

However, one website that carried the original divorce story, the Alaskan Report, claims to have received a letter from Palin’s lawyer confirming some details of the original report but said it was waiting clarification on other matters.

In the Facebook rebuttal Stapelton went on to write: “Less than one week ago, Governor Palin asked the media to ‘quit making things up.’ We appreciate that the more professional journalists decided to question this story before repeating it,” she said.

Palin’s attorney, Thomas Van Flein, also denied the blogpost, claiming the report is “categorically false”.

Internet rumors began circulating after a blogpost by a person who only identifies himself as Gryphen, a 49-year-old male in Anchorage, claimed the Palins were to divorce and the former Alaskan governor move to Montana.

Other websites quickly copied the post on the The Immoral Minority, prompting an official denial.

According to Alaska Report, “the Palins were noticeably not speaking to each other for most of last Sunday’s resignation speech in Fairbanks. Sarah ditched Todd (MSNBC) right after the speech and left without him. Sarah removed her wedding ring a couple of weeks ago,” the site claimed.

The Palins have five children: sons Track and Trig Paxson Van and daughters Bristol Sheeran Marie, Willow, and Piper.

I noticed that her wedding ring was missing when she was giving her resignation speech. And afterwards she walked over to Todd and they exchanged a peck on the cheek. Thought it was unusual for a couple who were so close. Mentioned to my husband about her ring missing. I do not like Sarah Palin but for the sake of her family, I hope the rumors are not true.

    Dedicated to Sarah Palin:

Why do they seek to destroy me?

The Heavens should be as much as once was?

My Great Lord Jesus, what is the Cause?

Whirlwinds blow through our Minds, what are the Laws?

I ask you my Great God, what are the Flaws?

My Great Love My God, is it by Stars?

My Friends and my Lovers, what are you …Ares?

Don’t we believe in Great Friendships, even from Fares?

Where are we now, were we born on Planet Mars?

Obama is the Anti-Christ…Sarah Palin is the Savior…

  3. John Austin Says:

This is one of Sarah Palin’s recent speeches, and I agree with Her. It would not matter to me if Sarah really did have Marital Problems (that is not the issue, and I truely believe that she does not).

How many of you out there has not had a Divorce or Family Problem? Again, this is a case of the drive-by Media taking advantage of this great, moral Woman.

“I do not know what you choose, but as for me, I choose freedom.

My freedom is being traded or all kinds of causes: for health care reform, for campaign finance reform, for immigration reform, for global warming/climate change, for bailouts of the government and their Wall Street pals, for banking reform, and even for partisan gain by Democrats and Republicans, “liberals” and “conservatives”, and for lots of other causes and reforms.

NONE of these causes or reforms is equal in value to my freedom and my freedom, which I own inherently, is beyond the jurisdiction of political parties, governments or corporations.

I love peace, I love my country, I believe in a civil society, I believe in open and fair public debate, and I believe in the democratic process. I value my freedom more than life itself, for freedom is the greatest gift I can pass on to my progeny, against which all other promises are pale and meaningless.

I am sovereign and free and this has not one thing to do with any human document or law or earthly power, I own this freedom and if I choose to submit to practices that make me less free I choose a path of self-destruction and I choose to betray my sacred obligation to my family, my nation and to my progeny.

I choose to live in freedom from fear. Fear is a mind killer, it is the handmaiden of slavery: it is better to be bold and perish than to live on in fear. I fear only God.

The cause of freedom is not a calculation of probabilities, it is a matter of principle, it is not a matter of what may or may not succeed but what is or is not right, proper, and necessary.

I fear neither failure nor death itself, I hope in my God and I obey my conscience towards my nation and my progeny.

To stand for freedom, come what may, is itself a reward and if all I receive is the honor of having stood, even if at the cost of my very life or all I hold dear in this life, I have received enough for any man in this life to be content with.

I choose freedom for myself, for my nation, and for my progeny. I reserve the right, alone if necessary, to stand up for my freedom against all enemies, foreign or domestic, in the same spirit in which I proudly wore a sailor’s uniform”.

It would be nice to see the public stayout of other peoples business. Just because she ran for public office does not give others the right to interfer in their personal business. No matter what it is hurtful to a family. And now adays there are to many divorces in the world because of faults rumors and such. If I want to know about her and her personal life I would be her best friend and would not give any of her business to the public. How would you, like it if others put your personal business out for others to lie about just to make a buck. You who exploit others hurt the children in these families for life. You are no better than a cheap tabloid that some people like to read just for kicks. I wish I was friends with Mr and Mrs Palin. I believe in their values the same as they do. I wish she would run for President because she will have my vote all the way. I don’t generally make or interfer in others business but I do believe in her and others like her when people exploit them. Their business is their own. Stay out of it.

  6. Neicey Says:

To the skank who offered his used condoms to Sarah Palin… you are a low-lifer who my guess would be as someone who always takes the low road. I have such faith in Sarah and her husband that everytime I see negative comments about her or them, my first thought is always that someone is trying to defame her by attacking her wonderful reputation. It is people like Sarah who revive my hope for America. If I could meet one person… it would be Sarah Palin.

  7. Azucena Ley Says:

I think everybody envy her, because she is a woman, (Politics), (Media) they don’t have enough culture they need like 20 years more to understand just a little bit about CULTURE, they can’t see a woman beautifull, talented, professional, all the people that talk bad about her could die to be just a little bit like her.

    Keep it up!!!!!!!!!!!!

  8. Azucena Ley Says:

The more you people talk about her she is going to be one day a Queen if we ever have Kings and Qeens in U.S.

You guys are disgusting, leave her alone for once and for all.

  9. Rommy Says:

I knew something is wrong on her leaving office as governor. John Macain made a big mistake picking her up as VP. That exposed her weak side. She is just like Dan Quial under first President Bush. Not many people knew her as governor. Her political live is over. Her family is in trouble. The media can kill if you do not know what you are doing. I wish her good luck

  10. Mike Says:

    Rommy,
If you are going to get involved, at least learn to spell. After all, the former Vice-President (I would expect you like the idiot who is our present VP) had trouble with spelling and the drive by media made the most of it. Too bad, they don’t do the same for all politicians. Thank you Vice-President Dan Quayle for your service to our country.

  12. John Austin Says:

This is an actual report, confirmed by The Pope of the Catholic Church…

Sarah Palin is invited to meet with the Pope while he is vacationing south of Rome in Venice.

The liberal press reluctantly watches the semi-private audience, hoping they will be able to allot minimal coverage, if any.

The Pope asks Governor Palin to join him on a Gondola ride through the canals of Venice.

They’re admiring the sights and agreeing on moral issues when, all of a sudden, the Pope’s hat (zucchetto) blows off his head and out into the water.

The gondolier starts to reach for the Pontiff’s cap with his pole, but this move threatens to overturn the floating craft.

Sarah waves the tour guide off, saying, “Wait. I’ll take care of this.”

She steps off the gondola onto the surface of the water and walks out to the Pope’s hat, bends over and picks it up.

She walks back across the water to the gondola and steps aboard.
She hands the hat to the Pope amid stunned silence.

The next morning the topic of conversation among Democrats in Congress, CBS News, NBC News, ABC News, CNN, the New York Times, Hollywood celebrities, and in France and Germany is:

    “Palin Can’t Swim.”

  13. John Austin Says:

This is original by my writings and research…

In a bold move, Sarah Palin is silencing her Critics by resigning her position as Governor of Alaska.

This may actually be a convincing moment in the History of American Politics.

As a Freedom Person, she will be able to receive $50,000 to $100,000 per speech and with her new book, coming out in Spring, Sarah will be worth $$$.

    What is Sarah doing?

She compares her decision to a Basketball Player who passes the Ball to a Teammate for the good of the Team.

It is rather like a double reverse Hand-off in Football.

Sarah plans to start an Organization for Children until the 2010 Elections, in which she will get the …
    “Ball back”.

She also wants to start a Grassroots Movement for a 3rd Party…Libertarian. Sarah calls it the “American Party”. (So we need to make her welcome in our system of Government).

It is not so much that she wants out of Politics, but “Out of the Republican Party”.

    The Timing?

It has nothing to do with the 4th of July, but rather because the Obama Administration is at the lowest ebb since he took office.

She talks about smaller Government, etc. This move is intended to make the Obama Administration think about the current Policies that they have put forth recently. (Notice that the Obama Administration is quite about this? They are scared to death of her because some recent polls show that if the Election were held today, Sarah would win by over 90%).

  14. Mountainrogue Says:

    Who cares? Mr Austin Saviour…PLEASE!
She is a self serving ding a ling, half Governor. I just want her brain grinding screech to go away. If it would not destroy my blessed America, I would love to see Palin as president, to simply show her numb minded fans how bright Mr Obama is.
If I were a woman I would be outraged that when a woman finally gets to the national stage, it ends up being a cheerleading, hypocritical, moron. Im not surprised in a country of couch sitting self entitled American Idol/Survivor fans.
God save the Queen and We
