New Delhi, Aug 4 (IANS) Dissatisfied over Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee’s reply on the price rise issue, Samajwadi Party members Thursday staged a walkout from the Lok Sabha.
The minister sought to assure parliament that all possible steps were being taken to tackle price rise, and said there was no need to moderate growth in a bid to tame inflation.
“There is no inherent contradiction between inflation and growth,” Mukherjee said in reply to a debate in the lower house on an opposition motion that expressed deep concern over increasing prices of essential commodities.
