Bharatiya Janata Party New Delhi, March 30 (IANS) The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Wednesday sought the sacking of Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit over allegations of corruption by civic agencies ahead of the Commonwealth Games (CWG).

Delhi BJP vice president Vijay Jolly said Dikshit needed to go as she had been indicted by the V.K. Shunglu Committee for corruption and diversion of funds during last year’s Games in Delhi.

On the direction of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Shunglu, former comptroller and auditor general, was tasked to probe the alleged misappropriation of funds, delay in projects, irregularities and corruption in purchases related to the Games besides other wrongdoing.

Delhi’s Lt. Governor Tejendra Khanna has also been held guilty, he said.

The chief minister has challenged the findings of the Shunglu committee.
