Ahmedabad, Sep 1 (IANS) Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat would be on a two-day tour of Gujarat from Sep 6 to meet senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Sangh Parivar leaders of the state.
Bhagwat would first meet senior RSS leaders and later call on BJP leaders, including Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi Sep 7 in state capital Gandhinagar, a top BJP functionary here said.
He said the visit of the RSS chief assumed importance considering the turmoil in the central BJP ranks. Veteran BJP leader L.K. Advani represents the Gandhinagar Lok Sabha constituency in parliament.
Bhagwat is also slated to address RSS activists at the Trimurthy Mandir campus in Adalaj, about 12 kms from Ahmedabad, on Sep 6.
The RSS chief is expected to discuss about the controversial book on Pakistan founder Mohammad Ali Jinnah written by expelled BJP leader Jaswant Singh with the party leaders and the crisis following its release.
Bhagwat will also meet Vishwa Hindu Parishad leaders during his stay in Ahmedabad.
