Sonia Gandhi New Delhi, July 19 (IANS) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister K. Rosaiah and Law and Justice Minister M. Veerapa Moily Monday met Congress chief Sonia Gandhi in the wake of the controversy surrounding party MP Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy’s “Odarpu Yatra”.

The meeting took place a day after Jagan termed as “painful” the suspension of his close aide Ambati Rambabu from the party.

Rambabu, a general secretary of the state party unit, was suspended Saturday night for his alleged outburst against Rosaiah. Jagan said Sunday during his yatra in East Godavari district that he would take up Rambabu’s suspension with the party’s central leadership.

Party sources said that Rosaiah and Moily, who is party incharge of the state, also discussed organisational issues with the Congress president.

Talking to media persons later, Moily said he did not want to get into a debate over the suspension of Rambabu.

Answering queries, he said if Jaganmohan had made any remarks against the state leadership, it was not in the best interests of the party. Moily said that he will seek a report.

In reply to another question, he said the party knows what decision to take at what time.

On the Telugu Desam Party leaders having been sent to judicial custody in Maharashtra following their insistence on visiting the controversial Babli project, Moily said that TDP leader Chandrababu Naidu should have waited for the meeting of Andhra Pradesh leaders with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh later this month.
