Blagojevich Celebrity Apprentice Springfield, Jan 12 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The ousted governor, semi-professional Elvis impersonator and reality TV contestant Rod Blagojevich had said that he is ‘blacker than Barack Obama’, and now he is apologizing for the same. He says that his comment was stupid. He had said all this in the February issue of Esquire. He had said that “I’m blacker than Barack Obama. I shined shoes. I grew up in a five-room apartment. My father had a little Laundromat in a black community not far from where we lived,” Blagojevich said. “I saw it all growing up.”

The former Illinois governor is regretting making all these comments now. Because on Monday he said that the comment was “stupid, stupid, stupid.” His remarks were meant to say that the President was elected solely because he showed some hope and promise, and that he wasn’t genuine enough. He had also poked fun on Obama’s habit of relying on the teleprompter. He had said that “What the (expletive)? Everything he’s saying’s on the teleprompter,” Blagojevich told the magazine.

The Esquire issue is supposed to hit the newsstands on 19th Jan, and before the furor starts over these comments, Blagojevich is trying to set the record straight by apologizing. However he also clarified that he is not going to offer a direct apology to the President, as he doesn’t have the phone number.
