Roberta Macain at 97 is “alive and kicking”May 14th, 2009 - 4:28 pm ICT by GD
During the whole of last year’s presidential campaign, Roberta Macain, the mother of Senator John Macain, did not utter a single word, in fact it were the drivers of her son’s campaign that would not let her talk, they thought that she could not do “the political thing” and she reflects that they were right.
However, now that the times are different, she wants herself heard and recently she let herself loose in an interview with the Los Angeles Times.
In the interview, Roberta was not so highly critical of the present President, Obama, but she could not help herself from sharing her thoughts about Keith Olbermann, the MSNBC commentator. She said, “He comes on as if he is hysterical. He is so vicious. You get as old as I am and you realize it’s the easiest thing in the world to be acerbic like that.”
Apart from, Olbermann, the other person, that she does not think highly of is Rush Limbaugh, she feels that Michael Steele hit the bulls eye when Steele verbally rated the radio host to be “ugly”, for which later due to some political pressure, Steele had to apologize. Nonetheless, about the “ugly” fiasco she opines that, “It was the first smart thing I had heard anybody say about [Limbaugh] and the Republicans made him back down. Why? Tell me why. He should have stuck to his guns.”
At present Roberta Macain is 97 years old and she is surely kicking and very hard, regarding her age.
