RNC Chairperson Michael Steele’s Job In A Vulnerable Position
April 1st, 2010 - 7:21 pm ICT by Pen Men At WorkApril 1, 2010 (Pen Men at Work): Michael Steele, the beleaguered Republican National Committee (RNC) chairperson, is maintaining a low-profile personality in the midst of unpalatable queries about his headship and job. This dilemma has come after notorious news of an expenditure binge and a disgraceful charity performance at a risqué Hollywood nightspot.
Up to now, no key Republican head has demanded the ousting of Steele. Probably, they dread that it could engender even more mayhem that the party does not require at the moment. However, the political pundits have already begun to cast aspersions on the RNC chairperson’s management.
The target of disparagement is bountiful expenditure by Steele. This unsavory list includes a whopping $17,000 for private jet aircraft tours, an exorbitant $13,000 for limousines and car maintenance and a humungous $9,000 for a journey to the Beverly Hills hotel. But the most contentious accusation is of Steele’s endorsement of an approximately $2,000 charity performance at Voyeur West Hollywood. This is a sexual nightspot in Los Angeles. The expenditures were not notched up by Steele but by a staffer, allegedly for the sake of providing amusement to the youthful Republicans.
Under threat, Steele is fast initiating measures to liquidate the storm. He has sacked Allison Meyers, the staffer who carried a cluster of contributors to Voyeur last January. Steele has insisted that he was not cognizant of anything about that meeting.
The RNC has vocalized that it would be paid back for the $1,946.25 check that was chalked up at the strip joint. The strip joint consists of the females enacting voyeuristic movements in live art equipments.
Republican loyalists are anxious that the hullabaloo is diverting attentiveness from the Republican Party’s principal objective, which is the seizure of an electoral majority in the Congress in the midterm elections of November.
