Bharatiya Janata Party Ranchi, Jan 7 (IANS) The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) Thursday boycotted the trust vote of the Shibu Soren government in Jharkhand, blaming the Congress for tacitly allowing the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) to form government with support of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
The boycott by the RJD, which has five legislators in Jharkhand, has given an easy sail to Shibu Soren on the trust vote.

“Shibu Soren is a secular leader. The Congress is responsible for the JMM and BJP government. The Congress did not make serious efforts to ensure formation of a secular government in the state,” said Annapurna Devi, RJD legislator, while taking part in the trust vote.

After finishing her speech, Annapurna Devi along with RJD legislators boycotted the house.

The new Jharkhand government headed by Shibu Soren Thursday sought a trust vote in the assembly to prove its majority.

While the BJP and the JMM have 18 legislators each, the AJSU has five members and the JD-U two, totalling 43 in the 81-member assembly. Three independents have also extended support to Soren, taking the tally to 46.
