Nevada, July 19, (THAINDIAN NEWS) There has been a constant rise in the unemployment rate in the state of Nevada in the recent past and it is this rising percentage of unemployment that may soon become the deciding factor for electing the next Senator of the state say political analysts. During the ongoing election campaigns, Sharron Angle, the nominee of the Republicans cited the reason of rising unemployment as the chief reason for Harry Reid to be put out of office.
It was during the reign of Harry Reid as Senator of Nevada that the state witnessed the sharpest rise in its unemployment percentage. While the number of unemployed people in Nevada was only 4.4% of the total population, it climbed to 14% when Harry Reid was elected as the majority candidate, says Sharron Angle in the campaign advertisement released by the Republicans. The steep climb in the recent past has taken Nevada to the top of the list of the most unemployed people residing in any state of the United States, above even Michigan which earlier had more unemployed people within its boundaries than Nevada.
When asked as to what exactly was her plan to lower the unemployment rate in the state, Sharron Angle is quick to reply that the benefits given to the unemployed in Nevada will also be lowered if the Republicans win the majority this time. Sharron Angle was the guest on the “Face to Face” show with Jon Ralston where she expressed her thoughts on the problem of unemployment that Nevada has been facing for quite some time now citing that lowering of unemployment benefits would also lower the unemployment rate in Nevada.
