Rick Santorum alleges that gay community has launched a jihad against him
August 30th, 2011 - 8:02 pm ICT by Aishwarya BhattWashington, Aug 30 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Republican Presidential hopeful Rick Santorum has announced that the gay community has launched a jihad against him. Rick has voiced his opposition to the gay community in the past and he believes they are trying to hit him back. He made the revelation when he was speaking to fans in Beacon Drive-In.
He told the crowd that, “I said this is a napkin, this is a napkin. A napkin is what a napkin is. It isn’t a paper towel. It isn’t a car. You can call a napkin a car, but it doesn’t make it a car. You can call a paper towel a chair, but it doesn’t make it a chair. Marriage is what marriage is. It existed before there was the English language or a state.”
Rick insisted that he is not taking back the words that he said back in 2003 that drew sharp criticism. Rick famously called gay men dogs and he says that is what he insists on. He condemned the Supreme Court ruling which said people have the right to adult consentual sexual activity. According to him, that should also make it legal for people to do polygamy; and incest should not be considered criminal in the country.
He said his comparison of gay sexual activity to polygamy and incest prompted the gay community to launch a jihad on him.
