Report: Obama chooses Dr. Regina Benjamin for surgeon general

- WASHINGTON, D.C. (BNO NEWS) — President Obama has chosen Alabama family physician Dr. Regina Benjamin to be the next surgeon general, a source told the Associated Press on Monday.
Minutes after the report from the Associated Press, the White House changed the president’s press schedule to say Obama will make an announcement about the Surgeon General at 11.40 a.m. EDT. The President will make the announcement from the Rose Garden.
