Washington DC, Feb 9 (THAINDIAN NEWS) A US lawmaker has credited “Hooters” for her success.

Rep. Julia Hurley believes that her experience as a “Hooters’ Girl” was very instrumental in her winning the seat from the incumbent Democratic candidate during the November midterm elections.

The 29-year-old Republican legislator wrote in the restaurant’s latest Hooters’ Magazine. Hurley wrote “I have taken quite a bit of flack from the public at large during my run for State House in Tennessee for being a Hooters Girl. But I know that without that time in my life I would not be as strong-willed and eager to become successful.”

The story of Hurley was featured at the part of the magazine called ‘Orange Pride Spotlight’. The column is dedicated to the success story of ordinary people.

Hurley had every cause to be grateful for her time at Hooters. During her bid to become legislator, she received tremendous help from former regular customers. They made it a point to help her cause by joining her campaign. She wrote that the customers joined her campaign “without question or hesitation.”

The race was the first public office bid from Hurley. She is a member of the National Rifle Association and the Gun Owners of America.
