Renu Jogi to take on Judeo

Bharatiya Janata Party Raipur, March 21 (IANS) Former Chhattisgarh chief minister Ajit Jogi and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Dilip Singh Judeo are set to revive their rivalry in the Lok Sabha election as Jogi’s wife Renu has been named the Congress candidate to take on Judeo in Bilaspur.
The BJP had fielded Judeo, a member of royal family of Jashpur, from Bilaspur while the Congress named Ashish Singh Thakur. But the Congress buckled under Jogi’s pressure and replaced Thakur with Renu Jogi.

Renu Jogi resigned a government job as doctor and launched her political career in December 2006, winning the Kota assembly seat in a by-election. She retained the seat in November.

Kota is one of eight assembly seats in the Bilaspur Lok Sabha seat.

“The Bilaspur contest will be the mother of all battles,” state Congress general secretary Ramesh Varlyani told IANS. Jogi said: “I am fully geared up for the Judeo battle.”
