Renewed protest demonstrations in Tehran
August 3rd, 2009 - 10:33 pm ICT by IANSTehran, Aug 3 (DPA) Renewed protest demonstrations started Monday in Tehran, just hours after the official endorsement of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s second presidential term, eye-witnesses said.
Thousands gathered between the two squares of Vali Asr and Vanak which connect central to northern Tehran, they said.
A large number of police and pro-Ahmadinejad voluntary Basij forces on motorbikes were trying to disperse the protestors but so far in vain, the witnesses added.
