New Delhi, July 10 (IANS) Jagdish Mukhi, Leader of the Opposition in the Delhi assembly, Thursday demanded removal of the word ‘terrorist’ allegedly used for freedom fighters in the history textbook of Class 12 of the National Institute of Open School (NIOS). He has written to Human Resource Development Minister Arjun Singh and NIOS chairman M.C. Pant demanding the change on pages 170-171 of the textbook.
“Freedom fighters such as Shahid Bhagat Singh, Chandrashekhar Azad, Ram Prasad Bismil of ‘Garam Dal’ may be termed as krantikari (revolutinaries) instead of terrorists,” Mukhi said.
