Ramdev’s movement politically motivated: Sheila Dikshit
August 13th, 2012 - 7:50 pm ICT by IANS
New Delhi, Aug 13 (IANS) Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit Monday attacked Baba Ramdev and the now defunct Team Anna, calling their movements politically motivated which had the backing of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
“We have already said that Anna Hazare’s as well as Ramdev’s movement are politically motivated by BJP,” Dikshit told reporters here.
Asked about media reports of the disbanded Team Anna floating its party in October, Dikshit said: “If they want to enter politics, so be it. If this is their final decision, they should fight elections. They can fight elections as independents do.”
Meanwhile, Ramdev was detained by police Monday as he led protestors towards Parliament House, seeking the return of black money stashed abroad and an end to corruption.
Ramdev was detained on the Ranjit Singh flyover in central Delhi.
He began his symbolic fast Thursday at the Ramlila ground for bringing back black money stashed overseas.
