Raipur, June 23 (IANS) Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh is keen to face Congress leader and former chief minister Ajit Jogi in assembly elections due in November. Reacting to media reports that Jogi has vowed to contest against the chief minister from any of the 90 assembly seats where Singh will be a candidate, Raman Singh said: “It will be an interesting battle.”

Singh, now touring the state’s northern region, told IANS: “It is up to my party to decide from which seat I have to contest. But it will be interesting if Jogi sticks to his announcement of contesting against me.”

The chief minister added: “The (Congress-led) central government has ditched the people. Inflation has surged to a record high. Let the elections come. Those challenging me are not aware about the people’s mood.”
