Rahul to visit Uttar Pradesh

Lucknow, July 20 (IANS) Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi will undertake a two-day visit of eastern Uttar Pradesh from Thursday for promoting membership drive of the Youth Congress, an official said Wednesday.
“Rahul Gandhi will visit Gorakhpur, Mau, Ballia and Varanasi districts where he will attend Youth Congress conclave for the organisational elections,” said Congress spokesperson Akhilesh Pratap Singh.
The Gandhi scion will also meet weavers to know about their problems.
Party officials say the Congress MP could also make surprise visits and meet farmers and locals in villages to know the ground reality of centre-sponsored developmental programmes.
