Rahul Gandhi visits hospital, blast site

New Delhi, Sep 7 (IANS) Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi was heckled Wednesday when he visited Ram Manohar Lohia hospital, where the maximum number of people injured in the bomb blast at the Delhi High Court have been admitted. He later visited the blast site.
Wearing his customary starched white kurta pyjama, Gandhi was greeted with slogan shouting by aggrieved relatives of the injured when he tried to go inside the hospital.
Security officials immediately threw a security ring around Gandhi and escorted him in. “He spent around 20 minutes. He met some of the injured people,” said a senior police officer.
According to the officer, of the 68 injured undergoing treatment, seven are said to be in a critical condition in the hospital, situated in the heart of the city. Altogether, 76 people were injured in the blast, which claimed 11 lives, and are being treated in other hospitals in the city.
From the hospital, Gandhi visited the Delhi High Court. “He was here for sometime,” said another police officer.
