Rahul Gandhi visiting Amethi on three-day tour

Lucknow, Aug 31 (IANS) Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi will arrive Wednesday in his parliamentary constituency of Amethi on a three-day tour during which he will participate in social programmes and evaluate a number of public welfare schemes, a party spokesperson said here Tuesday.
“During the three-day tour, Rahul-ji will meet party workers, activists of the Youth Congress and attend a number of programmes, like inauguration of internet for some panchayats, and 3G services at Gauriganj. He will also attend a Roza-Iftar party at Jagdishpur,” Congress spokesperson in the state Akhilesh Pratap Singh told reporters.
“He might also go for surprise inspections in several villages in order to know the ground reality of public welfare schemes and projects that are sponsored by the central government,” he added.
According to party officials, before returning to New Delhi, Gandhi will also review the functioning of the Sanjay Gandhi Hospital in Munshiganj.
