Rahul Gandhi to address party workers in Uttar Pradesh

Lucknow, Aug 6 (IANS) The Congress headquarters in the Uttar Pradesh capital is all decked up for the visit of party general secretary Rahul Gandhi, who is arriving here Thursday afternoon to address party leaders and workers.
According to state Congress spokesman Subodh Srivastava, Gandhi will land here around 3 p.m. and head straight for the party office to address a meeting of the party coordination committee at 3.30 p.m. The meet is intended to energise the party cadres and prepare them for the next assembly elections, due in 2012.
He will also have an open house meeting with the party’s MPs from the state and legislators.
Before leaving in the evening, Gandhi is scheduled to address a press conference at 6 p.m.
