Rahul Gandhi on three-day Bengal visit from Sep 14

Kolkata, Sep 11 (IANS) Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi will be on a three-day visit to West Bengal starting Sep 14 to boost the Youth Congress membership drive in the state, party officials said.
State Congress president Manas Bhuniya told media persons here Saturday that Gandhi will kick off his tour from the campus of Visva Bharati University at Santiniketan Sep 14 where he will address potential candidates for youth congress elections and the representatives of Congress from nearby rural electoral bodies from village panchayats to zilla parishads.
On that day he will also interact with youths at Basirhat and Garden Reach in the northern and the southern outskirts of the city.
On Sep 15, Gandhi will address the tea workers and tribals at Jalpaiguri, speak at a Scheduled Castes convention in Coochbehar and also interact with youths in South Dinajpur.
Gandhi will wrap up his tour Sep 16 by meeting families of slain Congress leaders and potential Youth Congress candidates in Howrah, besides addressing a women’s convention and then travel to Garbeta in West Midnapore district to address a Scheduled Tribes convention and participate with the youth workers from the adjoining parliamentary constituencies.
