Nov 4, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Patty Murray and Dino Rossi are locked in one of the closest battles in the elections so far. Though exit polls indicated that the Democrat candidate had a clear lead in Kings county, the votes from which are yet to be counted, the present scenario can best be described as hanging in the balance. Both Dino Rossi and Patty Murray have shown great confidence so far and both the campaigns are rallying for a win. Dino Rossi told a crowd at a Seattle suburb that the race was too close for him to concede and he was confident that there would be a ‘course correction’ on Wednesday. The results of the counting on Wednesday are, however, no different from that on Tuesday as Patty Murray is still seen to be maintaining a small lead with a margin of 25,000 votes.
The latest reports of the counting indicate that Patty Murray is enjoying a 2% lead at present with more than 1.5 million of the total ballots counted. With thousands of ballots yet to be counted, political experts feel that the balance could go either way. Many Democrats will, however, rejoice about the fact that the majority of the votes yet to be counted are from Kings County which is the largest Democrat stronghold in the state.
The senate seat of Patty Murray is a crucial one for the Democrats who have received a battering from the Republican backed candidates in most states so far. Dino Rossi is known for his attacks of Patty Murray’s campaign with the criticism of her party regarding the health care reform and Wall Street regulations.
