Putin plays ice hockey with teenagers

Moscow, April 18 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Russian Prime Minister Vladmir Putin showed that he is still active. Putin is known for taking part in extreme sports and his recent act was nowhere less than that.

The former Russian leader joined a group of teenagers who were playing ice hockey. The 58-year-old played with the two teams for the 40 minute session. After the session, Putin spoke about the exercise. He explained that he got to know the sport of ice hockey more after taking part in the sport.

Putin has also been known as a strong person in Russia. He told reporters that he sees ice hockey as a “very energy-consuming sport.” He explained that ice hockey has proven to be “less traumatic” than football.

Putin who ceded power to Dimitry Mednedev in 2008 says he would compete in the country’s election in 2012. He is seen as the right hand man of the president.

Putin holds a black belt in judo and has taken part in several extreme sports. He has been previously seen taking part in Formula 1. Putin’s strongman nature saw him swim across the Siberian River. He has also been photographed previously using a crossbow to shoot a whale.
