Punjab legislator dies
March 4th, 2012 - 11:24 pm ICT by IANSChandigarh, March 4 (IANS) Sitting Congress legislator Kanwarjit Singh Brar died Sunday in New Delhi after battling cancer for the last few months, party leaders said.
Popularly known as Sunny Brar, he was the Congress legislator from Sri Muktsar Sahib in the outgoing assembly.
Brar, 63, was the son of former chief minister Harcharan Singh Brar.
Punjab Congress president Amarinder Singh and Akali Dal president Sukhbir Singh Badal condoned the death of Brar.
