Public grievance redressal mechanism in place: Government
July 29th, 2010 - 11:06 pm ICT by IANS ( 1 comment )New Delhi, July 29 (IANS) An appropriate mechanism is in place for redressing public grievances, the central government said Thursday, pointing out that 58,546 of the 59,678 complaints received have been forwarded to the concerned ministries and departments.
“The Centralized Public Grievance Redress and Monitoring System (CPGRAMS) developed by the department has facilitated lodging of grievances online from any geographical location,” Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions Prithviraj Chavan said in a written reply in the Lok Sabha.
The department reviews the pendancies in ministries and departments on a monthly basis.
“As per the department guidelines, a grievance should be normally redressed within two months of its receipt. But the data on departmental action taken by different ministers and departments against defaulting officials is not maintained centrally,” he pointed out.

I am working as a Civilian Engineer in the Corps of EME under Min of Defence. I want to clarify some doubts about this Public grievance redressal since I already undergone this mechanism. First of all it is not a grievance redressal sytem at all. Your grievance will be circulated among departments and finally you will get a reply from your HQ citing the history of the grievance only. That’s all. Secondly, those who are wasting their time by writing grievance must know that no actin will be taken on it. Simply they will direct your HQ to give a reply to the individual. It is just a childish activiy by the Govt secretaries.
