Probe PM and other chief ministers’ properties: Mayawati

Lucknow, July 29 (IANS) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati Tuesday evening said the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) should be asked to probe into the assets of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and other chief ministers. Mayawati told reporters here that it should be inquired as to how much property a chief minister and minister owned before assuming the post.
Making a reference to the case of disproportionate assets pending against her, Mayawati said that all her assets were legal and she had provided evidence of how she had acquired them.
She said the documents related to her properties have been tabled in the state assembly but still the CBI wanted to drag her in a false case.
Mayawati said the CBI had gone into minute details of her properties and found everything in order. She said the Samajwadi Party allegations of corruption against her held no water.
She said the CBI should first probe into the wealth amassed by the ministers and chief minister of Maharashtra where the Congress party had been ruling for the past several years.
On the arrest of the state Congress president Rita Bahuguna Joshi, former Madhya Pradesh chief minister Digvijay Singh and Congress MP Sachin Pilot while they were on their way to Mayawati’s Badalpur village where the state Congress unit Tuesday organised a farmers’ agitation, she termed it all as a drama.
She said that by “hiring some labourers, the Congress leaders were trying to create ruckus” in her village.
Mayawati said the masses were not with the Congress and their new found love with the Samajwadi Party will not yield any result in Uttar Pradesh.
She warned that the “Sarvajan Samaj” would unite against such forces in the coming general elections and expose everyone.

CBI agency by its biased moves has proved that it stands for
Corrupt Bribed Investigation agency. It is good if some agency can probe into the assest of all Politicians and Bureaucrats.
