Chandigarh, Nov 7 (IANS) President Pratibha Patil Saturday postponed her proposed visit to Amritsar in Punjab scheduled for Monday, officials said.
“This visit has been postponed on the request of member of parliament from Bathinda Harsimrat Kaur Badal following her illness and hospitalisation,” said a state government spokesperson.
“The visit was scheduled at the request of Badal to promote the environmental cause and the movement against female foeticide. A new date for the president’s visit will be announced later,” he said.
Amritsar is around 250 km from here.
