Washington, Sep 1, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The much awaited speech given by the president of USA Barack Obama stole the limelight and the media entities covered the event that took place at the Oval Office. The president announced that the US troops will ebb withdrawn from Iraq and this has gone down well with the majority of the residents. However, the President also touched upon some sensitive economic issues in his speech and these have made the Republicans angry. They have reacted sharply to his speech. The president linked the end of war in Iraq with redeveloping the economy of the nation. Some economists have warned about the possibility of yet another recession striking the US economy. Nobody wants a repetition of the 2008’s great economic turmoil that led to an economic crisis in USA and also in the other countries across the world.
The President admitted the fact that near about a trillion dollar has been spent over these years in Iraq war. He also said that the middle class families are at the receiving end. He said that the US residents have braved hard times over the years and overcome the crisis as well. However the GOP candidates refused to acknowledge the contribution of the Obama administration and said that the credit to should go to former president George W Bush.
The GOP members said that earlier President Barack Obama along with vice president Joe Biden opposed the troop surge when the GOP was in power. The democrats however shot back and pointed it that the expenses made during their regime of former president George W Bush quickened the economic crisis of 2008.
