President Obama Announces Presidential Delegation to Uruguay to Attend the Inauguration of His Excellency Jose Mujica

WASHINGTON D.C. (BNO NEWS) – President Obama announced on Thursday the designation of a Presidential Delegation to Montevideo, Uruguay, to attend the inauguration of Jose Mujica, President-elect of Uruguay on March 1, the White House announced.

The Presidential delegation will be led by Hillary Clinton, Secretary of State. David Nelson, U.S. Ambassador to Uruguay, and Carmen Lomellin, U.S. Representative to the Organization of American States, complements the delegation.

Jose Mujica won the 2009 Uruguay presidential elections with 47.96 percent of the votes in the first round and 52.39% in the second, and final, round. He will replace current Uruguayan President Tabaré Vázquez at a ceremony on March 1.
